RE: Scheduling Make-up Games

Each spring, due to weather and other issues, numerous games must be rescheduled. Middlesex will schedule games for Memorial Day weekend and then announce that teams cannot play that weekend. As such, approximately one-half of our travel teams will need to reschedule those games. In addition, if we lose one or two weeks to weather, we will then need to reschedule as many as 60 games.

Please follow this procedure regarding make-ups.

1. Speak to the opposing coach and agree on three potential dates and times. Be sure to take sunset into consideration.

NOTE: Please do not contact me asking about available fields and dates until you have chosen three dates with your opposing coach. If I provide you with a list of what is available, those dates may be taken by the time you confirm with the other coach and get back to me.

2. Provide those dates to the WYSA Fields and Buildings Coordinator via email to receive confirmation of a field assignment.

3. Contact the Wilmington Referee Coordinator (U9 and U10) or your MYSL Age Director (U12 – U19) for a referee.

4. All teams – Notify your Age Director of the agreed date and time, receive his/her approval.

5. Make sure you have instructions from the Fields and Buildings Coordinator for accessing the job boxes to retrieve nets and corner flags.

Please address make-up games early in the season. The make-up schedule fills quickly and your options will be very limited later in the season.
